    Abstract
    This thesis is an argument describing the growing influence of big banks in Congress. Officials are elected to represent those who elected them. When officials act on behalf of banks with deep pockets the democratic process fails. Lobbying is necessary, but dangerous in its extreme. Striking a balance is imperative to the survival of the American economy. economy.
