Abstract
Each journalistic article in this collection explores one of America's most recognizable home-entertaining dishes of each decade from the 1950s to the 1990s, including Jell-O molds, fondue and quiche. The collection is full of surprising and humorous facts about these foods, as well as how they relate to gender and the socioeconomic trends of the time. The history of each dish and its eventual decline in popularity is also explored. It includes interviews with people who prepared and consumed these meals in their corresponding decades, in addition to knowledge from renowned author of food and pop-culture, Michael Stern.
